What the Price Includes
- The one-piece HDPE shell, with a lifetime warranty that is not prorated and not limited.
- The R-40 hard cover, rated to 350 lbs, also warrantied for life. There is no replacement cycle, which on a conventional foam cover runs every three to six years at around $800.
- 5x filtration and 110V/220V convertibility on every model.
What It Does Not Include, and What Most Quotes Hide
Taxes, and any landscaping you choose to do. That is genuinely the list, and the reason it is short is worth understanding, because it is where hot tub budgets normally break.
- No concrete pad. An Eco Spa distributes its load across a one-piece base, so it sits on compacted gravel, pavers, a patio or a deck within its rating. Most spas require a poured pad, which is a contractor and a cure time. See the concrete pad question.
- No electrician on the 110V route. Every model ships wired for both 110V and 220V, so you plug into a standard dedicated outlet on day one. A hardwired 220V circuit is optional and ranges from a few hundred dollars to several thousand depending on your property, which is the single most common gap between an advertised hot tub price and the final invoice. - No plumber and no crane on the vast majority of installs.
The Upgrades, and Which Are Worth It
Ecozone natural sanitation, WiFi control, Interior Mood Lighting, Eco Bat insulation, and an Exterior Lighting Package on some models. The Aurora Lighting System is fitted to the E5 Deluxe and E6 Deluxe only.
If you ask us which one actually changes ownership, the answer is Ecozone, because it is what keeps the water routine down to a few minutes a month rather than a weekly chore. Most of the rest is preference, and we will tell you when you do not need one.
What It Costs to Own, Not Just Buy
The sticker is the smaller number over a decade. Running cost in BC is roughly $10 to $40 a month at BC Hydro's Step 1 and Step 2 rates of 10.97 and 14.08 cents per kilowatt hour, against $25 to $75 for a poorly insulated tub with a degraded foam cover.
Then there is the cover. On a conventional spa that is around $800 every three to six years, roughly $2,400 to $4,800 across twenty years, and it raises your power bill every month while it degrades.
